A brief characteristics of the OHP In Małopolska
- Providing young people, who did not accomplish higher education, with assistance so they can study and gain professional qualifications,
- Finding employment for the young people in order to help them with gaining practical knowledge in a given profession,
- Educating and rehabilitating young people who have problems with adaptation to the society.
Forms of operation of the OHP in Małopolska
a) The educational level:
Fifteen Labour Corps without accommodation where youth are given work as well as opportunity to gain knowledge and educational care. The OHP staff takes care of the participants at school, at employer’s, partly during participants’ free time and sometimes even at home.
There are OHP units in Krakow, Tarnów, Nowy Sącz, Stary Sącz, Niepołomice, Bochnia, Wadowice, Oświęcim, Kęty, Myślenice, Skomielna Biała, and Gorlice.
Two training and educational centres for youth that are in particularly difficult family situation. The youth are provided with free board and lodging, 24-hour educational care, employment, and possibility to continue education. Such units operate in Trzebinia and Lanckorona.
b) The job market level:
Three Educational and Labour Centres which coordinate the network of specialised units which provide service in the field of helping the unemployed youth.
Such units operate in Krakow, Tarnów and Nowy Sącz.
Three Youth Employment Bureaus, their ten branches and seventeen Job Clubs. Their assignment is to find long and short-term jobs for the youth in accordance with their training programme and their expectations. The service is free. Such units operate in Krakow, Tarnów, Nowy Sącz, Krzeszowice, Niepołomice, Myślenice, Trzebinia, Klucze, Jabłonka, Skomielna Biała, Bochnia, Brzesko, Andrychów, Kęty, Oświęcim, Gorlice, and Żabno.
Three Mobile Occupational Information Centres. These are modern, mobile units equipped with methodological aids and moved between small towns and villages of Małopolska by means of busses. They offer services in the field of occupational consultancy.
Four Youth Career Advising Centres – a newly established OHP’s operational form on the job market. The Centres which operate in Niepołomice, Myślenice, Miechów, and Brzesko offer young people assistance in the field of occupational consultancy.

- Family environment; parents or children’s guardians.
- Councils, Civil Services in towns, boroughs and counties .
- Educational Institutions, schools, local departments of education.
- Employers, employers’ organizations like for instance Chambers of Craft.
- The Job Market institutions like for instance County Employment Bureaus.
- Local institutions of Social Services.
- Psychological-pedagogical health centres.
- Family Courts, Probation Officers, the Police.
- Roman-Catholic priests.
European Programs
Nine European Projects have been accomplished by the OHP in Małopolska since 1 May 2004 that is since Poland became a member of the European Union. The projects have been devoted to young people aged 15 – 24 who demand help with gaining occupational skills and qualifications. The chief purpose of the projects is social and occupational activation of the youth at risk from social exclusion. The OHP workers also take part in the projects rising their qualifications. At the present there are two programmes in progress: “Training-Practice-Employment-Development” for youth and “OHP staff training”.
